Tony Blake
is a screenwriter and Executive Producer with
over 20 years of experience working in
Hollywood, having written on staff for 10
different television series in both the drama
and comedy genres. He’s written and
produced over 180 hours of television for the five major networks, cable and syndication. He’s also written half a dozen screenplays, having sold both a film noir and teen horror feature.
His network credits include Lois & Clark, The Pretender, Charmed, and Sliders. He has written and produced for such stars as James Earl Jones, Teri Hatcher, Dean Cain, Shannen Doherty, Alyssa Milano, Jerry O’Connell and Courtney Cox. Recently he has partnered with legendary Spiderman creator Stan Lee to develop a new female superhero television series. Born and raised in New York City, he was a schoolteacher, banker and actor before launching a successful writing career in television and film.
In a lively talk, delivered with a wry sense of humor, Tony provides anyone with an eye on a career in Hollywood, with critical information that he’s acquired through 25 years of experience and trial and error. The creative artist, (screenwriter, TV writer-producer, director) will receive an in-depth understanding of the inner workings (both
functional and dysfunctional) of Hollywood from someone who’s
actually been there and done it. Tony’s desire is not only to save the artist valuable time and energy in getting started in film or TV, but more importantly to give crucial insights that will help them build and sustain a career in show business. A business that Tony refers to as the world’s largest temporary employment agency.
Each seminar has a follow-up Q & A, and Tony offers an e-mail
address for future questions.
